New Delhi: As annoyance spread widely caused to flow after the Congress' youth group first tweeted a meme discourteous Prime Minister Narendra Modi and after that deleted it, Union Minister Smriti Irani considered it as an "offend against Gujaratis".

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting said that the tweet reverberated "the way of thinking of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress".

"It is likely from the Congress. Youth Congress is representing what their leader feels about Prime Minister Modi," the BJP head asserted.

The ‘insulting’ tweet by Yuva Desh Youth Congress' online magazine depicted a photograph of PM Modi, US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May and took a dig at PM's Modi with portraying May as speaking the Indian PM to bound himself to just "making tea"

After the huge hullabaloo, the tweet was deleted with the Congress ask for forgiveness for the same. Party representative Randeep Surjewala said, "INC stoutly condemned & rejects such humor through memes. Differences in policy and opinion aside, Congress culture imbibes respect for the PM and all political adversaries."

On the other hand, Irani discharged the apology saying, “We don’t take Congress’ apology sincerely. We all know what Congress actually feels about PM Modi.”

Irani also took a crack at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and his approaching promotion as the party president, saying that the Gandhi scion had fallen dumpy of giving Congress a new headship.
