New Delhi: AAP party Superemo and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with deputy CM Manish Sisodia will meet Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Friday to talk about the two-day-old Supreme Court verdict which concise the powers of the L-G in the functioning of the city-state.

Worth mention here the bond between the AAP government and bureaucrats has further tense after the Supreme Court verdict.

Kejriwal warned officers of "serious consequences" if they did not follow the Top court's ruling. The Delhi government also sought legal options, including filing contempt petition, in opposition to those who denied complying with the government directive on transfers and postings.

CM Kejriwal had written a letter to Baijal on Thursday, asserting 'services' matter lies with the Council of Ministers, after bureaucrats rejected to follow the AAP government's order withdrawing powers of transfer and postings from the L-G.

Hours after the Top Court's landmark ruling, the government inducted a new system for transfer and postings of bureaucrats, making the Chief Minister the approving authority.

However, the services department turned down to meet the terms, saying the Top court did not eliminate the May 21, 2015, notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to which “services matter lies with the Lieutenant Governor”.

The Supreme Court in its milestone ruling had stated that the L-G is bound by the elected government's advice and cannot be an "obstructionist".
