Qualcomm telecom equipment maker Qualcomm launches Qualcomm 205 chipset today. This will help the mobile handset manufacturers to launch 4G phones at a cost of below Rs 3,500.
Jim Cathey, Senior Vice President, Qualcomm Technologies, said here: "Due to continuous acceptance of 4G phones and feature phones in India and South East Asia region, there has been a widespread growth in the opportunities for development in the telecom sector at the present time."
He said, "Qualcomm 205 chipset offers a unique opportunity for OEMs, operators and content providers to increase the experience of 4G on feature phones."
The company said that it has partnered with many vendors, which include Reliance Geo, Micromax, Borax, Megaphone, Flattestronics. They have plans to sell their 4G phones in India.
