New Delhi: Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to former CM M Karunanidhi. In her condolences wish Sumitra Mahajan, Lok Sabha speaker earlier today, remembered the 5 time CM of TN as an eminent personality.

“With profound sorrow, I've to inform the House about the sad demise of Karunanidhi who passed away on 7 Aug 18. He served as CM of Tamil Nadu for 5 times. In his demise, the country has lost highly popular and eminent personality”, Sumitra Mahajan was quoted by the leading news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, DMK supporters gathered outside Anna memorial at Chennai's Marina beach as Madras High Court gave its approval to bury the late DMK chief here. JCB machines have also reached the spot following Madras High Court's judgment that M Karunanidhi will receive burial at the Marina beach.
