For the first time, a rapist has been sentenced to death in Rajasthan after the POCSO act convicted for rape with children below 12 years of age. The court heard the case of Pintu Thakur (19 years) accused in the matter for only two and a half months. A 7-month-old girl was raped in Alwar, Rajasthan.
Judge Jagendra Agarwal said that such an act is shameful to humanity, who only knows how to laugh and cry. When she will able to understand the thinking, she would feel that taking birth on earth was a curse for her. If the sentence of imprisonment is also given, the wrong message will go among the people, hence the death penalty is justified.
