Bhopal: Some upper cast organizations of Madhya Pradesh have declared 'Bharat Bandh' on 6th September, in protest of a recent decision by the Supreme Court regarding the SC / ST reservation. In view of this matter, Section 144 has also been imposed in Madhya Pradesh.

On March 21 this year, the Supreme Court of India had banned immediate arrest in cases registered under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC / ST) Prevention of Atrocities Act. After this, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes had strongly opposed this decision of the court throughout the country. In view of this protest, the BJP government decided to bring  the act again in this original form by modifying the SC / ST Act.

Since then, there is an outrage with the government in the upper caste society and now in view of this amendment, the Madhya Pradesh’s upper caste outfits have decided to keep 'Bharat Bandh' on 6th September. Meanwhile, in order to prevent the possibility of any major incident, Madhya Pradesh government has imposed Section 144 in many areas of the state including Bhind, Gwalior, Chhattarpur, Rewa, Shivpuri. It is notable that in this case, the Karani army recently came out in a rally in Gwalior and threatened to sink on the face of CM Shivraj Singh.
