Sasikala applies for 15-days parole to attend husband Natarajan’s funeral

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Mar 20 (NT): Jailed All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader VK Sasikala's husband Natarajan Maruthappa passed away on Tuesday at around 1.35 am at the Gleneagles Global hospital in Chennai.

Following the demise of her husband M.Natarajan, VK Sasikala has applied for a 15-day parole. She is lodged at Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.

Reportedly, Sasikala is likely to travel to Thanjavur directly by road for the funeral.

Sasikala is currently serving a four-year imprisonment and is served in central prison in Bengaluru in a disproportionate assets case.

TTV Dhinakaran arrived at VK Sasikala's residence in Chennai, to pay his last respects to her husband Natarajan Maruthappa.

DMK Working president MK Stalin also paid last respects to VK Sasikala's husband Natarajan Maruthappa at their residence in Chennai.

According to the death certificate, the 75-year-old Natarajan died due to multiple-organ failure.

Shanmuga Priyan, Chief Operation Officer, Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai, released a statement, saying that every possible attempt was made to sustain his revival. However, despite their best efforts, he was unable to recover, as ANI reported.

The body of Natarajan is kept at Natarajan's Besant Nagar house in Chennai till 11 am. After that, it will be taken to his native place in Thanjavur district for final rites.

Natarajan had also undergone a liver and kidney transplant in 2017.
