Urns with ashes of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee handes over to Presidents of various states

 New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah handed over the urns carrying ashes of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Presidents of all states and union territories on Wednesday as Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Asthi Kalash Yatra started from BJP headquarters located at Ashok Road. The former Prime Minister's daughter Namita Bhattacharya is also present at the occasion.

The state president will take these urns in their states where that travels will be removed and tribute meetings will be held. On this occasion, Atalji's adoptive daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya was also present.

Earlier, Atalji's ashes were flown to Haridwar on August 19th by his adoptive daughter Namita. On this occasion, Atalji's grandson Niharika, Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were present. Atalji had breathed his last in Delhi's AIIMS on August 16.

BJP will stream ashes of urns in 100 rivers across the nation,  BJP spokesman Bhupendra Yadav had told this. Apart from this, prayer meetings will be held in all the states of the country for 20 days. A prayer meeting was held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on August 20 in Delhi. It will be held in Lucknow on August 23.

On the final journey of Atalji PM Modi walked 5 km from BJP headquarter to Smriti Sthal. Many senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, also walked on foot.
