This statue is situated on Lingyuan Mountains of Leshan, in which Gautam Buddha is sitting in the meditation center. It is said about this statue that it was constructed during the Tang Dynasty in 713 CE.

This place recognizes that at the beginning of the new year, the fate of any person from the view of this statue of Gautama Buddha arises.

UNESCO has declared Leshan Buddha the tallest carved stone statue, it is about 230 feet long. When the first day of the new year occurs, millions of pilgrims from all over the world visit here. There is so much crowd on this day that there is no room for the foot.
