Women tie Rakhi to Indian soldiers at LOC

A day before the festival of Raksha Bandhan in Jammu and Kashmir, a large number of women came from different areas of the district to rakhi on the wrist of the Indian Army jawans who guarded the Pakistani border in front of the Indo-Pak Line of Control. 

After tying Rakhi, the ladies gave the sweets and prayed for their longevity. Women who reached with the Rakhi on the Line of Control, under the banner of Border Jan Kalyan Samiti, had said that the wrists of our army brothers should not remain empty on the day of Rakshabandhan, so one day before, they tied the symbol of love on their wrists.

In the afternoon, a large number of local women reached the camps of 39 national rifles stationed in front of the posts of Pak army on the Indo-Pak Line of Control by the Border People's Welfare Committee. There, they first tied the Rakhi on the wrist of Jagannath Narayan and Major Abhishek Vajpayee, 39 RR commanding officers, and put tilak after doing their arti and gave them sweet. 

After this program of Raksha Bandhan, women were also served on behalf of the army and they were served tea and snacks. In the end, all the soldiers and women together slogged the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Vivek Sharma, Rajiv Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Anuradha Thakur, Priyanka Sharma etc. of Border Janakalyan Samiti were present on this occasion.
