The National Nutrition week every year celebrates between 1st September to 7th September, the week is all about to aware people for good health and well being. The theme that has set for this year of the nutrition week is " Optimal Infant and Young child feeding practices: Better Child health".

Through this entire week, people from all over the world get the knowledge  to maintain their look. People also get aware of food groups and balanced diet which they should intake in a day. 

The main purpose of this nutritious week is to enhance the practice awarness among the people of the community by the training, seminars, competitions and much more.

 

Here is the brief History of National Nutrition Week:

As per the report states that the campaign was first started by the central govt. in the year 1982 in order to encourage the good health. The Food and Nutrition Board including 43 units (departments of women and child development, health, and NGOs) is working all over the country to maneuver the activities.

 

Many activities done on the national nutrition week are as follows:

1. There are many seminars and training offered to the people and aware them of a good nutritious food.  

2. In this week, mass nutrition awareness campaigns are run through govt. and non-govt. health organization.

3. In this campaigns, people are given a proper training for the preservation of nutritious materials like fruits, vegetables etc.

 

Themes that are followed on National Nutrition week so far:

The theme of 2013 was “Project Dinnertime – Cook. Eat. Enjoy”.

The theme of 2014 was “Poshak Aahar Desh ka Aadhar”.

The theme of 2015 was “Better Nutrition: Key to Development”.

A theme for the National Nutritional Week in the year 2017 is  “Optimal Infant & Young Child Feeding Practices: Better Child Health”.
