New Delhi: While Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has fled the country, an Afghan soldier is surviving by frying 'French fries' in Delhi. Umaid, who was once posted in the Special Force, is now earning Rs 300 per day by frying the 'French fries' of potatoes. He says he is learning Hindi, but the future and profession have no idea what will happen.

Umed also wants to do a good job now, but somehow he has to fry and sell French fries to run a family. Many of his friends were killed in the war with the Taliban, whom he still gets emotional to remember. Umaid's parents had passed away in an accident that he was two years old. Umaid, who is currently living in India on a refugee card, says he can't even return to his country Afghanistan now.

Umed, who works at a street food point in Lajpat Nagar, is reminded of the latest news from Afghanistan when he was in the Army. He was deployed at several places and had also piled up several Taliban. The Taliban still have several videos of his campaign. That is why the Taliban have put him on the blacklist also. Umaid fears he will be killed as soon as he goes to Afghanistan.
