MUMBAI: Mumbaikars fells a big relief as no overnight rains were reported across the financial capital of Indiacity till the wee hours of Wednesday.
Water is said to be withdrawing in a number of areas. Roads and rail tracks were still water-logged, affecting hundreds of local commuters. Nonstop rains had beat-up Mumbaikers while other parts of Maharashtra alos was battered for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday. A number of trains and flight operations were hit because of the heavy rain .
As per Zee News report At least two persons were also killed in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra’s Palghar.
Western Railway informed that local trains were running normally between Churchgate-Bhayander. Though water level has come down, on tracks near Nallasopara but it is still not at safe level. Suburban services will begin between Nallasopara-Virar as soon as water level comes down to safe level.
“One suburban service was run on UP slow line from Virar at 6.22 hrs but regular services ex Virar will be started only after water level comes down to safe level. Empty stranded rakes of long distance rakes are being cleared one by one to clear the tracks. #WRUpdates @drmbct”. Western railway tweeted.
The trial run was conducted around 6.22 am on the Virar-Bhayandar route by the Western Railway.
