New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested a prominent peasant leader from Jammu in the case of violence during a tractor parade in Delhi on Republic Day against agricultural law. Officials have given information about this on Tuesday. This tractor rally was taken out by the farmers against the three new agricultural laws of the Center. 'J&K United Kisan Front' chairman Mohinder Singh is the first person arrested from Jammu in the 26 January violence case. He hails from Chatha in Jammu city.
Officials said that they were arrested on Monday night and immediately rushed to Delhi for questioning. It is noteworthy that farmers are protesting on the borders of Delhi against the three new agricultural laws of the Center. The violence took place during the tractor parade of farmers on 26 January and some protesters also placed a religious flag on the Red Fort.
On the other hand, Singh's family has described him as innocent and demanded his release immediately. His wife told the press, "He told me that the senior superintendent of Jammu police had called him and he was going to the Gandhi Nagar police station. After this, his mobile was off. Upon questioning, we came to know that he has been arrested by the police and taken to Delhi."
