New Delhi: The law against triple talaq has come into existence in the country, but still the harassment with women is continued in the country. Such an incident has come to light from Delhi's Gokulpuri. A 27-year-old woman, Gulnaz, alleged that her husband held her hostage in the room for 3 days, beaten and then when her maternal uncle came, the husband gave her triple talaq in front of him. Gulnaz's mother said that her son-in-law Salman divorced Gulnaz in her presence.
Gulnaz says that her marriage has been 4 and a half years, but she has not been able to become a mother. This is the reason why her husband and in-laws have been assaulting her and used to threaten to leave. The wounds on Gulnaz's body are so deep that even those who watch groan. Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against the husband and family of Gulnaz in various sections, but the accused is absconding.
The victim woman and her family members alleged that the Delhi Police took a long time to register an FIR. After this, the accused was granted bail from the police station itself. Later, when Gulnaz appealed to the high officials of the police, three sections of the divorce law have also been added to the FIR.
