In a recent Buzz, nearly a billion people took part in the world's biggest, most elaborate 'festival of democracy'. The elections that began last month, witnessed scores of Indian voting in a phased manner.  The election result fever has gripped the country, with people in every nook and corner discussing politics and being hooked to their smart phones and television screens, tracking the results. One Twitter user posted a picture of a man literally walking around with an LCD screen displaying results on his back at a Mumbai Railway station.

One user wrote pointed out that, 'the man runs the risk of being electrocuted' and added that such stunts are unnecessary as most people have phones to check results. For now the BJP is set to return to power. The party's parliamentary board is expected to meet on Friday evening at the party headquarters.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh thanked people of India for giving the decisive mandate to the BJP-led NDA, reposing faith in Modi's leadership. "This historic victory in general elections is the outcome of Modi's visionary leadership, Amit Shah's dynamism. PM Narendra Modi is now all set to build New India," said Singh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Heeraben, 98, today thanked BJP party workers outside her residence in Raisin village near Gandhinagar, as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) looks set to record a massive win in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
