A massive rally gets convened by CPI-M members in Tripura

Political scuffle is quite high in the state of Tripura. CPI-M and its allied units staged a massive rally at Dharmangar of North Tripura in assistance of their 16-point charter of needs. Members of Ganamukti Parishad, Tripura Khet Mazdoor Union, All India Kisan Sabha and others took part in the rally. The massive rally started from the Dharmanagar CPI-M party office and the demonstrators walked across the entire town. Party leaders, who took part in the rally included Deepti Dey, Niranjan Debnath, Ratan Roy, Harkumar Nath, Bijita Nath, Abhijit Dey, Sreebrat Chakraborty, Makhan Pal, Rabindrajit Rajkumar, Dhaneshwar Naik, Shashank Majumder, Sameeran Das and Hasi Bhattacharya.

The other leaders, who also accompanied the demonstration, included Mira Bagchi, Ataftur Rahman, Pradyut Sharma, Tapas Sarkar, Sudhir Das, Arjun Nath and Amitabh Dutta. The demonstrators demanded that the power sector should not be privatized, an unusual increase in electricity tariff should be checked, the infrastructure of North Tripura District Hospital needs to be developed, health services need to be developed in the District Hospital. As per the announcement of the chief minister, financial aid of Rs.10 lakh should be given to the family members of the patients who died of COVID19, the protestors demanded.

They further demanded that all students applying for admission in Dharmanagar Government College should be admitted; no student should be deprived of admission, 200 working days per year should be created in Rega and TUAP, and the workers be paid Rs 340 as per election promise. It was also demanded that unemployed people be paid a minimum unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000 depending on the job or employment.
