New Delhi: A video of a woman from Sadar Bazar in the country's capital, Delhi, had gone viral on social media. In it, the woman was accusing three Hindu youths of pulling the burqa and forcibly calling Jai Shri Ram. When the Delhi Police investigated the case, all the allegations of the woman turned out to be false. It was found that the woman has been having a dispute with the accused over the tenancy for a long time. When she was asked to vacate the house, she gave a communal shade to the dispute.

The complaint in the case was made on April 12, 2022 (Tuesday). The woman claimed that the incident took place with her on the intervening night of April 11-12. The police have also warned those who give a communal form to the case after the allegations were found to be false in the investigation. In the viral video, a woman wearing a burqa is seen, whose name is Shaheen. The woman said, "At 2 o'clock at the night, I was coming home to see my mother. My brother was 4 steps behind, coming along to leave me. In the meantime, 3 mischievous boys from my neighbourhood, one of whom is Rahul, pulled my burqa sleeves.'' He said "We will take off the burqa of Muslim women. When my brother tried to save me, he also asked him also to say Jai Shri Ram.'' They said "We will not allow Muslims to live.''

But, the Delhi Police opened the floodgates of Shaheen's allegations. North Delhi DCP Sagar Singh Kalsi said, "On April 12, 2022, a call was received in the morning regarding a quarrel in Delhi's Thana Sadar Bazar. The woman who made the call said that some boys had quarrelled with her. Police immediately arrived at the spot and investigated. After checking, it was found that all the people knew each other. Their tenancy dispute is also going on in court. The police officer said it is known that some people on social media are giving communal colour to the case. This is baseless. Spreading any such message would be considered a crime.'' According to media reports, Shaheen, who made the allegation, has also changed her statement before the police. The three accused boys are said to be landlords, who wanted to get the tenant, Shaheen, to vacate his house. That's what was talked about late at night. At the time of the incident, all three boys are said to be under the influence of alcohol.

The matter was first shared by Farhan on a Facebook page named Hindustan Live. He captioned the video, "Mistreating a woman going with her brother in a burqa." Brother and sister claim to have forcibly shouted Jai Shri Ram slogans. A complaint was lodged at Thana Sadar. One boy was caught by the police and 2 were out of control.'' However, after the Delhi police's warning, Farhan deleted the Facebook post. But by then it had gone viral. Similarly, another person named Shadab had shared the same case on his YouTube channel 'The Shadab World News' on April 13 with a communal shade.
