The World Chess Olympiad, which is going to be held for the first time in India, is just two months away from the start and it was successful in setting a new record even before the start of the Chess Mega Kumbh to be held in Chennai. Earlier, in 2018, the chess Olympiad in Georgia, Batumi has also set a record of playing a total of 179 countries of teams, while this time so far, teams from 187 countries have been confirmed to have played in India.  

Reports say that this time in the absence of Russia after USA, China, India is also a big contender for the title this time, due to being the host, 2 teams of India in the men's section and two teams in the women's section are also going to be seen playing. Released by the All India Chess Association today.

According to the information, so far 189 teams of the men's category and 154 teams of the women's category have been registered so far, including the teams of 343 countries. In this event, which is played in the team format of classical chess, a team plays 5 players while a total of 11 rounds are played in each category. The Chennai Chess Olympiad is scheduled to start from July 29 and be played till August 10.
