Islamabad: Atrocities against minorities, especially Hindus, are not new in Pakistan. Now a strange case has come to light. According to media reports, the Hindu Council is being pressured to pay fines for Islamic fundamentalists who were involved in the attack on a temple in Karak. These fundamentalists were fined by the Supreme Court. The Hindus have already paid the fines imposed on the 11 clerics involved in the attack. Now these Hindus are also under pressure to pay the fine of more than 100 other Islamic fundamentalists accused in this case.

Tell us that the temple was attacked in December 2020 in Kark district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan's Supreme Court had imposed penalty on 11 clerics in the case. The amount has been paid by the All Pakistan Hindu Council. A local resident said, "The Hindu Council decided to pay a fine imposed on Amir Maulana Mir Zakim of Jamaat Ulemai-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) district, Nazim Rahmat Salam Khattak, Maulana Sharifullah and eight others in the former Kark district and paid Rs 2,68,000 per person. The report said a total of 123 accused have been named in the police FIR, many of whom have been identified with the help of video footage of the attack. Pakistan's top court had ordered recovery of Rs 3.30 billion as temple reconstruction fee from the accused named in the FIR even after objections from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. The report had revealed that the local clerics involved in the attack were obstructing the reconstruction of the temple.

The district administration is reportedly pressurising all the 123 accused named in the FIR to pay their share of fine by sending notices on October 26. A Hindu leader said that after the Hindu Council paid the fine of 11 accused, the remaining accused named in the FIR now want hindus to pay the fine in return. He said, "The fine has already been paid, but now all the 123 accused are demanding that their fine be paid by the Hindu community, which is not possible. ' The report quoted a local Hindu leader as saying that the Hindu community in Pakistan is completely helpless. Even after the government's participation, the Deputy Commissioner refused to help in the temple reconstruction for fear of local clerics. So Hindus don't want to offend these clerics any more. That is why the Hindu Council had decided to pay the fine imposed on him.
