New Delhi [India], Jan 30: With the Indian Premier League auctions done after spending over Rs 400 Crores, the cricket fraternity is busy doing the Postmortem of the mega event. The two-day event saw plenty of action, where like always, it changed the lives of many Indian cricketers. While the franchise owners splurged plenty of money on uncapped players and unheralded names, some of the most established players were sold at their base price – which left everybody surprised. Two of the biggest talking points of the event were Ravichandran Ashwin being signed by Kings XI Punjab while former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir joined Delhi Daredevils.

Ending all the speculations, Gambhir, who has been an integral part of the KKR squad for the last seven years, finally ended the journey as he was signed by the Daredevils for Rs 2.8 crore. The rumour mills were high ever since KKR didn't not retain the left-hander as one of their three players. Andre Russell and Sunil Narine were the only two players retained by KKR.

Now that Gambhir is gone, the biggest question in the minds of KKR fans would be that who will be the leader of KKR? KKR still have some quality overseas players in Russell, Narine, Starc and Lynn in the squad but none of them have much experience in terms of captaincy. In the Indian lot, Dinesh Karthik, Uthappa and Piyush Chawla are some of the most experienced players, but just like the foreign players, even these do not have captaincy experience.
