Aakash Chopra Comments on Kohli's Controversial Dismissal

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has shared his opinion on the controversial dismissal of Virat Kohli against KKR, urging fans and critics to evaluate the incident objectively. Kohli's dismissal occurred when he faced a waist-high full toss from KKR's Harshit Rana in the third over of the match, stirring controversy at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Chopra emphasized that the third umpire's review showed Rana's slower full toss was dipping and would have fallen below the waist if Kohli had remained at his crease. However, Kohli was significantly ahead of his crease when he made contact with the ball, influencing the umpire's decision. Chopra noted that those who support Kohli in the controversy might be biased toward a particular fan base and should consider the incident impartially.

He questioned whether bowlers should adjust their lengths drastically if a batter steps far outside the crease, suggesting that such decisions should be made with fairness and logic. Despite strong performances from players like Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar, who scored 55 off 32 balls and 54 off 23 balls respectively, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a narrow loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by just one run. RCB's middle-order collapse played a significant role in their defeat, marking their sixth consecutive loss under Faf du Plessis' leadership and reducing their chances of reaching the playoffs.
