In this fast paced world what stands out is a consistent yet swift approach towards work and life. When someone turns work and life into a success story for all to follow, it becomes worth reading and reciting. Ajinkya Deshmukh, authorpreneur, TedX speaker and a literary exponent is a testament to the aforementioned fact.

You have struck a harmonious chord among business, writing and other facets of your work, please tell us more about it.

Ajinkya: For me, following my passion has always been the key since long. When I consult my clients in terms of expansion, brand building and the works, essentially I hone my skills further. This is a process I cherish and enjoy the most. Same is the case with my writing. I like what I write and I write what I like. Hence my clients share my feelings as well.

What is it that makes you click with your associates and why?

Ajinkya: Identifying the needs of the market is the first step of my approach. Then comes the process of customization. Fortunately, since I am highly aware of my competitive advantage, I have a varied range of services on offer of which writing is one. Moreover, I am quite flexible when it comes to adapting to the clients’ needs and timelines. Thus, the twain meets.

What kind of change has worked for you since you began your new journey?

Ajinkya: I think since the outbreak of Covid 19, people have actually come closer despite the lockdowns. Constraints like time zones, place, and distance have lost their significance considerably. I have never met several of my associates in person yet I faced next to no difficulty in understanding their requirements and fulfilling them to their delight.

How does a creative and liberal process like writing fit into the conservative and symmetrical world of business?

Ajinkya: It is all about perception. For some of us, doing business is also a form of liberal art where imagination and dedication result in a breathtaking masterpiece. My literary faculties have helped me form a strong bond with my associates. When you constantly try and find new ways of improving your art, you are improving your work as well. Writing has given me an edge in terms of what I offer and how I perceive things. So, the lines of conservatism and liberalism blur when I indulge in taking my cause of association further as long as it results in a win-win situation for me and my clientele.

You possess a varied repertoire ranging from event management, concept development to sales. How has it helped you as a professional?

Ajinkya: Massively. When you traverse through such different fields, you are bound to gain a considerable amount of experience. Moreover, it gives you a sense of prediction that in itself a huge competitive advantage in any walk of life. You develop a habit of being prepared for a range of scenarios that may arise of any situation or a project timeline beforehand.

What is your take on the importance of building a network of associates and its significance in the longer run?

Ajinkya: I believe you should trade on your word, that is keeping faith of your associates is the key to building a solid network. More than anything, the goodwill you build with your clients takes you further. It is that business card that never goes out of style. Suffice to say, that is an asset which empowers your brand the most.

What is your advice to the aspiring minds?

Ajinkya: I will share what I practice. Search for your competitive advantage and hone it to the fullest. One should always be in search of what the industry needs in terms of macro and micro perspectives. Respecting the timelines is the key when it comes to progressing as an individual and a professional.
