Kanpur: A youth of Kishorepur village under Baraur of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh was murdered by his friend by thrashing him with a stick. The police now arrested the accused and disclosed the incident on Wednesday. During the interrogation of the police, it was told that there was an altercation between the two after making the remark of drinking by asking for a beedi. The police arrested him and produced him in the court. From there he was sent to jail.
Disclosing the incident in the police line, ASP Ghanshyam Chaurasia said that Shivam, a resident of Kishorepur village, was friends with Devendra Sachan alias Chhotu of the village itself. Shivam often used to drink beedi by demanding from the people. Devendra had commented on this by taking the name of his father. Angered by this, Shivam was walking around with a knife to kill Devendra. Somebody told this to Devendra. On March 19, Shivam was seen on the way near Saidlipur village. On this, Devendra had made him half dead by hitting him several times with a stick lying nearby. He died during treatment at the district hospital.
During interrogation, Devendra told that he has carried out the crime alone. Devendra said that Shivam was so angry that he could have killed him anytime. Because of this he had to kill Shivam. The police have also recovered the stick. SO Ganga Singh said that the accused was produced in the court. From there he was sent to jail in judicial custody.
