A youth faked his own kidnapping to get Rs 1 lakh from father

Agra: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old youth allegedly decided to fake his own kidnapping. He wanted a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from his parents. The accused was arrested and booked under section 384 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for extortion and Section 420 of IPC for cheating.

According to the report, the youth had allegedly left his home on April 22 stating that he was going to join a private company. The accused was identified as Abhishek Kumar. The father of the accused is a farmer.  The accused's father received a call from his son's mobile phone on April 28. The caller asked him to deposit Rs 1 lakh in the bank account of the accused. The father said that he was asked to deposit Rs 1 lakh in the account of the accused if he wanted to see his son alive.

The father of the accused informed the SP Mainpuri about the incident. Police tracked the accused's mobile phone and found that the location was in Gurugram. A police team then reached Gurugram and caught the accused in Sector 18 near IFFCO Chowk. 


In the investigation, it is found that the accused had faked his own kidnapping to get money from his father. The accused allegedly confessed that he had been assisted by Chotu, a shop owner from Gurugram.
