UIDAI sent notice to residents and clearly states, 'Aadhaar has nothing to do with citizenship issue...'

Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India has made this point clear that some residents are being issued notices of alleged wrong information related to Aadhaar by RO Hyderabad. UIDAI said on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, that its Hyderabad office had sent a notice to 127 people for allegedly obtaining the Aadhaar number by following the wrong method. However, it has nothing to do with citizenship. UIDAI gave clarification after getting the report from the police.

According to the information received, while issuing notice by RO Hyderabad of UIDAI, it is also said that the Regional Office in Hyderabad has received a complaint that you were not a citizen of India, you obtained the Aadhaar number with the help of wrong information and fake documents. Therefore, you have to present the actual documents in the Regional Office.

It is also being said that it was told in the notice that the Hyderabad Regional Office has been investigating this matter for quite some time. In this regard, all the 127 people have been asked to show all the original documents to prove their citizenship by appearing in the Inquiry Office on 20 February. If they are unable to prove their citizenship, then their Aadhaar number is going to be disabled.
