New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had made a lot of free promises to form an AAP government in Punjab, but now after the elections, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is seeking money from the central government to fulfil those promises. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Thursday (March 24, 2022) has sought financial assistance of Rs 50,000 crore per annum from the central government for two years, claiming that the state's economic condition is extremely bad.

According to media reports, Mann told the Prime Minister about the economic condition of the state and said that his state has a debt of Rs 3 lakh crore. At the same time, he has demanded a special package of Rs. 50,000 crore per annum for Punjab for two years to improve the economic condition of the state. In a video that has surfaced on social media, CM Mann has said, "I met PM Modi today. He congratulated me on becoming the CM of Punjab.'' Later, giving details about his meeting with PM Modi in a tweet in Punjabi, Mann said, "Met PM Narendra Modi Ji today to discuss the issues of Punjab. I sincerely hope to get support from the Central Government to resolve the issues of the state.'' Mann also said that if the state gets a special package for two years, his government will be able to stabilise Punjab's financial situation.

Let us know that AAP president Kejriwal had made a lot of promises of freebies to the people of Punjab. Kejriwal had promised 24-hour free electricity to all the people in Punjab. He had also promised to give Rs 1,000 per month to all women above the age of 18 in Punjab. Along with this, Kejriwal had also promised to rebuild all schools and hospitals in Punjab and open 'Pind Clinics' on the lines of mohalla clinics, where all will be treated free of cost. Not only this, immediately after the swearing-in, Bhagwant Mann had announced to give 25,000 government jobs.

However, now after the formation of the government in the state, the AAP does not seem to have any particular interest in fulfilling these free promises. Mann, after meeting PM Modi, has claimed that the state is in huge debt and for this, he has sought help from the Modi government at the Centre. This has led to speculation that if the AAP-led government in Punjab fails to deliver on the promises of freebies, they can completely blame the central government as part of a strategy. As Arvind Kejriwal has been doing generally. We had seen the hallmark of this even at the time of the controversy over oxygen in the corona crisis. When Kejriwal had accused the Centre of oxygen shortage when it came to light that there was talk of conducting an audit of oxygen, Kejriwal's demand for oxygen had suddenly reduced considerably. At the same time, now that Bhagwant Mann has asked for Rs 50,000 crore, an old video of Kejriwal is also going viral on social media, in which he is saying that I go through all my homework as to where the money will come from, how will we do everything.
