Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared its CM face for the Punjab Assembly elections. Announcing this, Arvind Kejriwal said that its decision has been taken by public voting. He said that more than 21 lakh people of Punjab had cast their vote in the public voting, out of which 93.3 percent had talked about making Bhagwant Mann as the CM candidate.

In the press conference, Kejriwal fiercely attacked other parties. He said that other parties used to make their son, daughter-in-law or the man of the house as the chief ministerial candidate, but AAP has not done so. Kejriwal said that Bhagwant Mann is my younger brother. If I had given his name directly, then there would have been allegations of nepotism, people would say that Kejriwal made his brother the CM face. Therefore this decision was taken through public voting.

Kejriwal said that more than 21 lakh people voted in the public voting. In this, 93.3 percent votes were in favor of Bhagwant Mann. On the second place was the name of Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu. According to Kejriwal, Sidhu also got 3.6 percent votes in the AAP's survey. He said that many voted to make me the CM too, but I had already said that I would not become the CM candidate from Punjab.
