Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is in power for the first time in Punjab, has come under the scanner of opposition parties Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal due to rising crime in the state. On the killings taking place in the state, the opposition said that Bhagwant Mann has handed over the state to the killers. In fact, 19 people have been killed in 21 days. These include three murders of kabaddi players, including international player Sandeep Singh Sandhu, near Jalandhar. 

Former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu said, "Law and order in Punjab have completely collapsed, while the chief minister is busy seeking votes in the cold air of Himachal. On average, three to four murders are taking place every day, people are scared." 

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said that people have been feeling insecure since the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party government has been busted. Two CMs of the Aam Aadmi Party are making false claims about corruption. We appeal to CM Bhagwant Mann to immediately control the rising crime instead of being busy with campaigning.
