Mumbai: The war over loudspeakers in Maharashtra is not taking the name of stopping. Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) played the Hanuman Chalisa by putting up a loudspeaker outside the Shiv Sena Bhawan on the occasion of Ram Navami. However, soon after, the police reached Shiv Sena Bhavan and got it closed. The police also recovered the vehicle on which the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa was being read by installing a loudspeaker. At the same time, the police arrested Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Yashwant Killekar and went to Shivaji park police station.
Let us tell you that in the past while addressing the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers, Raj Thackeray had demanded to remove loudspeakers from mosques in Maharashtra. Raj Thackeray had clearly said that if the police and the administration do not remove loudspeakers from mosques soon, Hanuman Chalisa will be played in a loud voice in front of the mosques.
At the same time, Raj Thackeray had also said after giving the warning, "I am not against prayer or any particular religion. Every religion has the right to pray, but I am proud of my religion. So, it is important to take care that you do not have any problem with anything else." After this statement of the same Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers are playing the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers at many places. Earlier, in Kurla and Ghatkopar also, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists had tried to play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers, after which the police acted on it and a notice was given to the activists.
