Jaipur: The name of the state's ruling Congress councilor Matloob Ahmed has been exposed in the violence that took place on the day of Hindu New Year in Karauli, Rajasthan. According to media reports, people are still imprisoned in their homes even after more than a week after the Karauli riots. According to the port, the Hindu New Year procession was going from Futakot to Ganesh Gate. Due to which a large number of youths were hidden by rioters by piling stones on the roofs. Stone pelting started as soon as the bike rally arrived. When a stampede broke out, all those rioters came out with weapons and started rioting. Sticks, rods and knives were used in the riots. Many people were admitted to the hospital after being covered in blood. Senior officials were informed by the policemen after the riot broke out. Many injured people kept pleading for help from the police. Around 40 policemen were stationed around the rally, but even after this they did nothing to stop the rioters and later requested their superiors to send more police force. The police have registered an FIR against 20 people from one side and 17 from the other side.
State DGP ML Lather has said that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Home Secretary to investigate the riot case in the presence of police. He has assured that the policemen guilty of negligence will not be spared. He has said that a crowd of 300-400 was reported and accordingly forces were deployed in proper numbers. Even after all this, the police of Rajasthan is on the contrary blaming the Hindus for the violence.
