Ahmedabad: Senior Patidar leader Mahesh Savani has resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Gujarat on Monday. Savani had joined the AAP 6 months ago. Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia himself had reached Surat to get big businessman Mahesh Savani a membership of the party.  Mahesh Savani has quit the AAP saying he wants to do social service but does not want to live with any political party. Mahesh Savani is believed to join the BJP soon.

According to AAP sources, several leaders are angry with party Gujarat unit president Gopal Italia and leader Manoj Sorathia. Even many AAP leaders are going angry with in-charge Gulab Singh Yadav. By the way, they have no choice but to leave the party. However, when Vijay Suwada was asked the reason for leaving the party, he termed it as a personal decision and Mahesh Savani cited not playing politics as the reason for leaving the party.

But the question is, before 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party had registered 27 seats in Surat corporation in the local body elections, forming its own organisation. While in Gandhinagar corporation has become the second party challenging the Congress. Will the Aam Aadmi Party be able to stop its other leaders in the party after the resignation of two senior leaders? It will also be interesting to see.
