Mumbai: The 812 acre forest cover in Mumbai has become even more. Yes, and this has been informed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray himself. He tweeted information about the same. In his tweet, he wrote that the area under Aarey Colony has now been handed over to the Forest Department and Sanjay Gandhi National Park. At the same time, he has written, "Under Section 4 of the Indian Forest Act, no development work will be carried out on this land now. Let's tell you that the total area of Mumbai is 603.4 sq km.

In such a situation, about a sixth of it, around 100 sq km. Sanjay gandhi national park (SGNP), film city and Aarey colony is the green area. The same is the highest at 87 sq km. The area is located in the heart of a metropolis in the world with the only national park SGNP. Now, after joining SGNP, 812 acres of Aarey Colony, the area of SGNP is 90 sq km.

You all must be aware that in September last year, Dairy Development Minister Sunil Kedar and Forest Minister Aditya Thackeray had decided to declare 812 acres of land under Aarey Colony as forest area. Now, last Monday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray himself tweeted that the said plot has now been handed over to the state forest department and SGNP. This has paved the way for the forest cover in the heart of Mumbai to flourish.
