The Indian government launched the Arogya Setu mobile app last month to track the corona infection. This app has helped a lot in making people aware of the virus. However, this app has failed on three out of the five indicators set for privacy and transparency. At the same time, this information has been received by the US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

MIT released contact tracing apps rating
MIT has released a rating of contact tracing apps. In this, things related to how the apps work, data handling, privacy and transparency have been considered.

Arogya Setu app should get only two digits
India got only two out of five ratings of contact tracing apps. Experts at MIT say that the Arogya Setu mobile app has proved to be the only two indicators, including timely deleting of users' data and collecting useful criteria. On the other hand, Arogya Setu has failed on voluntary usage, data usage limitations and transparent beads.

These countries get full marks
The MIT report included Singapore, Australia, Norway, Israel, the Czech Republic, Iceland and Austria among the countries receiving five out of five points. While France, Ireland and Iran have got just one point. At the same time, China's app has completely failed on all five parameters.
