Today is the 40th birthday of Abhijeet Sawant, the first winner of 'Indian Idol.' There was a time when Abhijeet's songs used to stay day and night on people's lips though today Abhijeet is away from the limelight. Today he is living a life of oblivion and very few people remember. Let me tell you all that 'Indian Idol' was started in the year 2005 and the country got its first 'Indian Idol' Abhijeet Sawant. Abhijeet defeated 130 participants to advance to the top 11 and then overtook everyone to capture the trophy.

Abhijeet then launched an album called 'Aapka Abhijeet' whose 'Mohabbatein Lutaaunga' song is a super hit to date. The song was followed by Abhijeet's second album 'Junoon' which was a super hit. He then sang 'Marjaavaan' in Tanushree Dutta's 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' which was a super hit but Abhijeet disappeared after the song. After a long time, he was spotted with his wife in 'Nach Baliye' Season 4. Then something happened that Abhijeet got away from the limelight. In fact, Abhijeet was travelling by car with his friends in 2010. During that time, two boys on a scooter were hit by a friend's car.
