Global technology major Accenture Plc has raised its sales growth guidance for 2020-21 (SepAug), following the strong performance in the first quarter and further traction in deal wins. The company now sees sales growing 4-6% in 2020-21 (SepAug) in local currency terms, against 2-5% estimated earlier.

The strong earnings and higher guidance from the technology major lifted shares of its Indian peers today. Shares of Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services scaled lifetime highs, and those of HCL Technologies touched a 1-month high. The broad-based recovery in demand seen by Accenture and the sustained momentum in revenue and order booking reinforces the view that clients are increasingly looking at digital transformation, which further improves prospects for Indian software majors, analysts said.

Earlier this week, Infosys Ltd too, said the momentum in business has sustained from the September quarter, expressing confidence over the company's performance in the Dec quarter. The December quarter is usually weak for Indian companies due to lower spending by clients in the US and Europe.
