Telangana: Road accident cases rose 6,964 in one year span

Telangana: According to the Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India as per the 2019 report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), The number of accident cases in Telangana State has increased. The detailed report states that these accidents and deaths are caused due to over-speeding. In a span of one year, the number of cases has increased to 6,964 from 6,603.

The state stood on ninth position, with  6,964 fatal number of accidents in the country while the neighbouring state, Andhra Pradesh stood sixth with 7,964 cases. The highest number of fatal accidents was in UP. where 23,285 persons lost their lives in accidents.

The Telangana Police is trying to bring the system in which the license of the person should be suspended who will drive under the influence of alcohol.  They have asked the Transport Department to do the same for over-speeding and using cell phones will driving. The additional DG of Road safety and Railways, Sandeep Shandilya has said that "The drivers should respect the rights of other drivers and must take care of others, who are on road". According to him, so far 485 black spots are identified and now the team has started to put their efforts so these black spots can be solved to avoid accidents in the future.
