Action on teacher Ashish Emmanuel in mass conversion case, police will attach house

Lucknow: Police will soon attach the house of a Kanpur teacher who is absconding in the case of mass conversion. The CJM Court issued the attachment order on Saturday (February 4). As per reports, the name of Ashish Emmanuel, a government school teacher, had cropped up in a mass conversion at the Evangelical Church in Hariharganj on April 14. 

The accused teacher lived at Abunagar in Armapur State, Kanpur. The police issued a notice to the teacher to appear. On not appearing, the critic had given an application in the court for attachment on February 1. On Saturday, the court issued the order of attachment. Discriminating Inspector Amit Mishra has told that the order has been received from the court, and attachment action will be taken soon. A team of IB remained standing at Kotwali on Saturday in this regard. He took information related to conversion from the local police. The team also spoke to the investigator about the action and evidence in the case so far.

In addition to the 34 named in the case, the names of 26 other accused have come to the fore in the police investigation. Police have arrested 14 accused along with Vijay Masih and sent them to jail till now. Anju Rani, Bhanu Pratap, and Mukul have appeared in the court. Some of the accused have taken anticipatory bail from the High Court, while the police are on the lookout for 43 accused, including Vice-Chancellor RB Lal.
