Group of scientists from the University of Cambridge in the UK  created the 3D structure of the active DNA, this structure is the first ever model of the active DNA of the mammal. It is the combination of the 100,000 measurements of different components of DNA.

Professor Ernest Laue, head of the group said, "Knowing where all the genes and control elements are at a given moment will help us understand the molecular mechanisms that control and maintain their expression."

He further added, "In the future, we will be able to study how this changes as stem cells differentiate and how decisions are made in individual developing stem cells."
