Sabarimala row :Activist Easwar rahul arrested again, more than 3000 people arrested so far

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala officials told on Sunday that more than 3,345 protesters, who had stopped entering the Sabarimala temple, were taken into custody by the Kerala Police, as well as 517 cases against protesters in different parts of Kerala have also been registered. On Sunday morning, activist Rahul Ishwar was arrested in Kochi and with this the total number of arrest from October 26 has gone up to 3,346.

According to news agency The Kerala Police arrested Easwar under Section 153 (promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier, the activist Easwar sparked the controversy by saying that there are people who are ready to spill blood inside the temple to close.He said that 'there were people ready to make wounds in their hand and spill blood in temple so that temple has to be closed down.

On September 17, when Sabarimala Temple had opened for people, Easwar had said that the believers of the old age tradition would stage a peaceful protest to restrict the women entry in the temple. However, the protest turned violent and  Protesters also blocked and attacked journalists covering the incident. On October 17 also Eashwar was got arrested for  helming the protests against women's entry inside the SabarimalaTemple.
