Akshay said, "I work with new directors because the big directors don't take me to their films." He further said, "When the big people don't take you in their films, then you have to start your journey on your own. If you don't get a job in a big publication, then you start with a small publication. And from there you jump You can not just sit at home wondering why people are not taking me to their films when I am so capable. This comment of actor Akshay has come after Karan Johar's comment, in which Karan said that Akshay has been a star who worked with many new directors.

When Akshay was asked if there was a time when big directors wanted to work only with Khan (Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir)? To this, Akshay replied, "The director went to those people who used to deserve. It is not that at that time it was only Khans." There were also Kapoors and the rest of the stars. It seems to me that I probably did not deserve it. That is why I earned my way". Although Akshay further said that big directors produce their films but do not direct them.
