At a temple in Acharapakkam, Maya actor Ashwin Saravanan, who is directing the Nayanthara-starrer 'Connect,' married his co-writer Kaavya Ramkumar in a small ceremony attended by close friends and family.

"We got married at a little temple in Acharapakkam on Thursday," the youthful director, who has delivered critically acclaimed successes like "Maya" and "Game Over," told the media. On the journey from Chennai to Pondicherry, this place could be found. We had originally intended to hold an event at which everyone could attend. The pandemic, on the other hand, compelled us to keep pushing the event forward. Both families eventually agreed that we should have a quiet wedding first, and then a reception when things settle down."

"Kaavya is a doctor by profession," the director remarked about Kaavya. She also used to compose short stories and publish them on the internet. I was fascinated by her stories and reached out to her to see if we might collaborate. We collaborated on 'Game Over,' and we felt quite comfortable with one other."

On Twitter, the director also announced his wedding. "It all started with pen and paper," he said alongside photos from their wedding. It came to a beautiful end. Thank you for always riding out the storm with me, Kaavya Ramkumar's heart suit. It was an adventure in and of itself doing this with you, especially during the third wave."
