The film 'Hotel Mumbai' based on 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai has been released. In the film, director Anthony Maras uses the actual footage of confession of Pakistani militant Aamir Ajmal Kasab.
The attack on Mumbai's Taj Hotel is depicted in the film. During this attack, how bravely the hotel staff tried to save the people inside. Police and local administration gave information to Maras, giving interviews and actual footage of Kasab's confession. The tapes presented at the court were also made available to Maras and his co-writer John Collie.
Director Maras said, "We saw thousands of pages of Kasab's trial, including statements of witnesses and tapes of satellite phone conversations between terrorists and their handlers. We also interviewed Kasab's lawyer for further information. He said, "We stayed in the Taj for more than a month, interviewed the staff and went to the same corridor, the kitchen where the events in the film took place." In this film, Anupam Kher, Dev Patel and Army Hammer will be seen in the lead roles.
