Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has just launched a new solar power plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This plant, located in Devikot, has a capacity of 180 MW and is set to make a significant impact in the region. AGEL has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to ensure consistent power supply.

The newly commissioned solar plant is expected to generate approximately 540 million units of electricity annually. This will be sufficient to power more than 110,000 homes while also reducing CO2 emissions by around 390,000 tonnes. To achieve maximum efficiency, AGEL has utilized next-generation bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar trackers (HSAT), which enable better tracking of the sun throughout the day.

In addition to maximizing energy production, the plant also incorporates innovative waterless robotic module cleaning systems. This technology helps conserve water, especially crucial in the arid region of Jaisalmer. Furthermore, AGEL has established an Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC) on a secure digital cloud platform for real-time monitoring of its renewable energy assets. This ensures enhanced operational performance of the plant.

AGEL's latest addition brings its operational solar portfolio to an impressive 6,243 MW, making it the largest in India. When combined with its other renewable energy capacities, AGEL's total operational generation capacity now stands at 9,784 MW. This marks a significant milestone in India's journey towards sustainable energy production.
