Adani Transmission has reportedly acquired a 49 pc stake in Alipurduar Transmission Limited from Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL). Out of the acquisition, the remaining 51 pc stake will be acquired after obtaining the requisite regulatory and other approvals, in a manner consistent with Transmission Service Agreement.
Adani Transmission is a transmission and distribution business arm of Adani Group and Alipurduar Transmission Ltd operates transmission lines aggregating to around 650 ckt km in West Bengal and Bihar.
Presently, Adani Transmission’s network includes more than 15,400 ckt km, from which, over 12,200 ckt km is currently operational and more than 3,200 ckt km is, as of now, under various stages of execution. A wider reach for Adani Transmission is promising since Element one of the projects consists of the transmission line from Alipurduar to Siliguri commissioned on January 20, 2020. In addition, Element Two of the project consists of the transmission line from Kishanganj to Darbhanga that was commissioned on March 6, 2019.
The above development made a rise in the stock price of Adani Group. On Friday during, the first-afternoon session of trade, the stock of Adani Transmission was seen trading at Rs 379.45 per share, up by 4.17 pc or Rs 15.20 per share, on the National Stock Exchange.
