New Delhi: After the decision of the Central Government, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to conduct final year exams across the country. In protest, the Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra has reached the Supreme Court of the country. Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray filed a petition in the apex court, challenging the UGC's decision to conduct final year examinations. However, the court has not yet accepted the petition for hearing.

It is noteworthy that the government of Maharashtra had already made parameters on its behalf to pass the final year students. Therefore, after the new decision of UGC, the Maharashtra government is looking annoyed. Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, examinations from school to college level were affected all over the country. In schools, the board exam was canceled, but the central government decided to hold the final year or semester examinations in the university.

On July 6, the UGC issued a revised guideline regarding university examinations, under which all the universities were instructed to complete the final year or semester examinations before September 30. Against this, students are registering their protest.
