New Delhi: Objecting to the television coverage of ukraine-russia war and delhi riots, the government on Saturday issued a strict advisory to news channels asking them to comply with the programme code laid down by the laws related to them. The government has cited some incidents of "exaggerated" statements by news anchors and telecasting "sensational headlines/taglines" and disrupting the process of investigating the incidents in north-west Delhi by airing "unconfirmed CCTV footage" while reporting the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

At the same time, the government also said that some of the discussions on TV channels on the incidents in north-west Delhi were in "unparliamentary, provocative and socially unacceptable language". At the same time, communal remarks were made which tried to disturb communal harmony. The Government has expressed serious concern over it and at the same time has given strict instructions that such things should be avoided. The Centre has also expressed displeasure over the use of objectionable language about loudspeakers due to different programmes in the debate show.

It may be recalled that last week, there was a clash between two communities when a procession was taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav in Northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri. The advisory issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said, "In connection with the above, the Government expresses serious concern over the manner in which television channels are telecasting their content.
