Kabul: Afghanistan's women's football team played its first match since leaving the Taliban-ruled country last year in what turned out to be a goalless draw. The Melbourne Victory Afghan women's team played a goalless draw in the Senior Women's Championship in Victoria.

Last year, after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, 30 players and coaches were expelled from the country with the help of the Australian government. Now he is living in Melbourne. The team completed its first practice session in February and is going to play under the Victoria banner this year.

Instead of Victoria's traditional navy blue and white V, the team will wear an Afghan red shirt in home matches and a white shirt for outside matches, with the Afghan flag on its back. The names of the family members are not written on the reverse keeping in mind their safety as their families are based in Afghanistan. Players have their first name or surname written on the back of the shirt.
