New Delhi: The situation in Afghanistan continues to worsen, with the number of people leaving the country steadily increasing after the Taliban the terror group ruled. Now people from Afghanistan are expressing their pain in front of the media in Delhi. Ejaz Ahmed, 19, angrily says, 'My father was killed in a Fidayeen attack by the Taliban.'' After that, our family came to India from Afghanistan. Ejaz Ahmed is among those who are demonstrating outside the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at Vasant Vihar in Delhi.

Afghan refugees protested outside the UNHCR's office on Monday. The protesters sat outside the office even at night. Zainab Hamidi is 22 years old and his family came to India 10 years ago on a tourist visa and settled here. Zainab describes the Taliban and its terror when asked why they did not return to Afghanistan. Zainab says, 'My mother was a teacher in a government school. My elder brother worked as an interpreter with an American agency in Kabul. One day the Taliban threatened us. The Taliban kidnapped my younger sister while she was on her way to school. Three days later, they left his body at our door.'

"The Taliban constantly threatened us not to work with government agencies," says Zainab. At that time we wanted to go to a safe place. In 2012, we came to India and are trying to go to a country where we are accepted as a citizen or an immigrant. Zainab says that there should be no demonstration at this time, but many Afghans like him have no other way out. Zainab says that at first, we expected us to have our own country, but now we have lost that too.
