Kabul: Two schools in Afghanistan, ruled by the Taliban, have been poisoned with poison. After this, about 80 girls of primary schools have been admitted to the hospital. According to the report, the incident took place on June 3 and 4, 2023. The provincial head of the education department has given information about this. The two schools are located in Sangcharak district of Sar-e-Pul province in northern Afghanistan.

According to the report, 60 girl students were poisoned in Naswan-e-Kabod Ab School and 17 in Naswan-e-Faizabad School. Mohammad Rahmani, the provincial head of the education department, told the media that the two schools were located nearby and were targeted one after the other. After the incident, the students were taken to the hospital and now their condition is fine. Rahmani says that a departmental inquiry is going on in the incident. Preliminary interrogation has revealed that someone has committed these incidents out of malice. However, no information has been given about the person doing this. Nor is it clear what kind of poison was given to the students. The age of the victim students has also not been disclosed. Rahmani has only said that the victims are from class 1 to 6.

Girls can't study after sixth grade under Taliban rule:

The Taliban have been ruling Afghanistan since August 2021. Since then, women's rights and their freedoms have been continuously suppressed. There is a ban on girls studying beyond sixth grade. Earlier in 2015, 600 school girls were poisoned in Herat province of Afghanistan. At that time, many human rights organizations blamed the Taliban for this.

It is noteworthy that in November 2022,  a similar incident took place in Afghanistan's neighboring country Iran. Students were poisoned in many schools here. Thousands of students themselves had said that they had fallen ill due to poisonous smoke in these incidents. But it was never revealed who was behind these attacks or what chemicals were used to carry them out.
